Way Too Early Look To Next Year - Girls' PAISAA
The youth movement that over took the Friends School League, the Inter-Ac, and the PAISAA as a whole this fall will surely continue into next year. The top four spots at the PAISAA Championships to two sophomores, a freshman, and an eighth grader.
Penn Charter's Emma Zwall came out on top, winning in 19:00 at Belmont Plateau. Germantown Academy's Isabelle Goldstein, Germantown Friends' Annika Marcelis, and Friends' Central's Rebecca Wusinich took the next three spots, respectively. A lot can certainly change in a year, so we'll be looking to see how each of these young talents progresses.
Germantown Academy took the team title in a close one over Friends' Central and Penn Charter. The champs return five of seven, while Friends' Central brings back three. Penn Charter, meanwhile, returns all seven from its varsity squad that took third, a point behind FCS. Germantown Friends, which took fourth returns five of seven.
Predictions
Goldstein brings the individual title back to her family (her sister Abbe won in 2016), beating out Zwall, Marcelis, and Wusinich. Penn Charter, led by Zwall, takes the team title by five over Germantown Academy.
