Kyle Garland of Germantown Academy is primed for his final season of track and field at the high school level before he heads to the University of Georgia. He's talented everywhere, but the high jump is one of his best events. Garland proved that last spring and summer when he jumped 7-02 at an AAU meet.
Injuries got in the way of going after even bigger jumps this indoor season, but as he gets healthier look for Garland to put up some big heights this spring and he'll look to get back over 7 feet and more.
Garland and his GA teammates do not compete in the PIAA, so the competition will be very heated for those state titles in AA and AAA. Last spring, LaSalle's Jonathon Squadrito was an upset winner at the state meet, claiming the AAA title with a jump of 6-06. He's back and no longer under the radar after an indoor season that saw him take second at states and jump a best of 6-08. He'll look to keep improving and aim for that repeat.

Mason Ventrone of Mount Lebanon will be one to watch. ...
