Treyvon Ferguson of Milton Hershey (above) will look to close out his already terrific on a high note in the triple jump. Ferguson won the AAA state title last year and kept it rolling into the summer, where he leapt a personal best of 49-07 at an AAU meet. Ferguson is now coming off a great indoor season that saw he earn a narrow win at the indoor state meet before taking second at indoor nationals in a thriller. He has a lot of momentum and is looking forward to a big outdoor season.
But he'll have his fair share of challengers in a very deep year for the boys' triple jump. In that close indoor state meet, Ferguson edged out Harrisburg's Jakari Lomax and Imhotep's Akeem Cooper. Both jumped over 48 feet at Penn State, which are personal bests. Lomaz was second and Cooper took third. Then we can't forget about Wissahickon's Ahmir Johnson, who also leapt 48 feet during the indoor season. He missed states, however, because of a hamstring injury.
