The pole vault continues to get better year-over-year . This winter especially proved that with a pair of girls vaulting top four all-time jumps in Pennsylvania. Pittston Area's Abby Norwillo and Manheim Township's Mackenzie Horn were the top PA vaulters all winter. Horn took home the state title last month at Penn State (both cleared 13-0, but Horn won on attempts).
Norwillo comes back this spring with the best returning jump from outdoors last year. She jumped 12-10 to take ninth at New Balance Nationals Outdoor. But the bar has been raised heading into this season. Norwillo was second at states last year, but indoors, she cleared a PA#4 all-time 13-00.75. Horn was third at outdoor states last year, but jumped a PA#2 all-time of 13-03 indoors. These two are the favorites heading into the spring.
But we can't forget about the reigning AAA state champion, Carena Nottoli of Hempfield. She jumped 12-06 a few times last season, including at the state meet to take the title. She was third at...
