
After a terrific junior year that saw her turn into one of Pennsylvania's best and most consistent discus throwers, Red Lion's Madisen Kling is back for more in her senior season. Kling (above) captured the AAA state title last season and tossed a season best of 143-08 at the Penn Relays. Now she's primed for a big spring in the event. Kling hit that 140 foot or better barrier on three occasions and always on the biggest stages.
Kling will be looking to repeat as state champ in AAA, but she'll have plenty of challengers. Selinsgrove's Piper Klinger, who was sixth at states, unleashed a huge PR of 140-08 at nationals last summer. Look for her to try and carry that momentum into the season. Butler's Jena Reinheimer, the reigning WPIAL champ, took fifth at states. She threw over 140 feet in her District 7-winning toss.
