Esther Seeland sought out competition at the Loucks Games in White Plains, New York and came away with the top 800 meter time in Pennsylvania.
The State College Area senior, who emerged as one of the top middle distances runners in the state and nation this winter, pulled away and kicked to a convincing win in 2:10.47, a PA#1 and US#14 time.
With about 250 meters left in the race, Seeland made her move to the front of the field. She opened up a gap on the field and she was home-free from there. She ended up winning by nearly three seconds over second place Emily Philippides, a talented mid-distance runner from Greenwich High School in Connecticut.
