AAA Girls' 4x100m Relay Preview
The Cheltenham girls have been the class of Pennsylvania in the 4x100-meter relay, winning state titles in each of the last three years. The Panthers will look to make it four in a row on Saturday. Cheltenham ran a PA#1 time of 47.39 at the Penn Relays. They followed that up with a win at the District 1 Championships, dropping a 47.60.
Plenty of teams will be gunning for that top spot, though, and, of course, anything's possible in the 4x100. Coatesville enters at PA#2 after running 47.90 in the prelims at districts. They're a solid sprint squad, whose eyes are on the prize this coming coming weekend after taking second to Cheltenham last year at states.
The WPIAL brings in some strong squads. At the top is Avonworth/Northgate, which ran 48.29 to win the District 7 title. A/N edged out Mount Lebanon for the that title. Both teams have a real shot at the title. District 12 champions Central will be in the mix. So will Warwick, which rolled to the District 3 title.
Pine-Richland, Whitehall, Emmaus, Wilson, North Penn, and Exeter make up a long list of teams capable of making the finals.
