Individuals Breakdown: District 3 Boys

D3-AA Boys - Individuals Breakdown

District 3 Class AA was stacked on the boys' side last season. Despite the graduation of some big names, D3-AA looks like it will be very solid again this fall.

The favorites heading into this season all finished within a single second of each other at last year's district championship race. Wyomissing Area's Ben Kuhn was third overall, Lancaster Mennonite's Logan Horst was fourth, and York Suburban's Jarrett Raudensky took fifth in a close sprint to the line.

Kuhn, part of Wyomissing's state title team from a year ago, was 33rd at states. After a big spring season on the track that saw him run 9:32 in the 3,200 meters, Kuhn could be in for a strong season. He just missed out on some state medals last year, so he'll be plenty motivated coming into his junior season. Horst was 20th at the state meet. He, too, had a solid spring season on the track; he took seventh at states in the 3,200 meters, and will aim to bring that momentum into this season. Raudensky had the best state meet of this trio. He took tenth at Hershey and is primed for a big senior year, leading the always-strong YS squad.

Look for this to be one of the best intra-district battles of the season for a trio of boys that should be in the mix to place very high at the state meet.

Among the other returners to watch for in D3-AA are Caeden Smith of East Pennsboro, Ishmael Kirkwood of Big Spring, Gary Waters of Milton Hershey, and Nathan Yoder of Lancaster Mennonite.
