More Week 6 Highlights
- At the Henderson Indoor Invitational at Haverford, Jane Livingston of Conestoga Valley swept races of the 55 meter distance. The senior went 8.10 to win the 55-meter hurdles (PA#2) and also won the 55 meter dash in 7.38. Twin Valley's Kayla Gillen cleared 5-4 (PA#5) to win the high jump.
- At the Hill Prep Invitational at Ursinus, Julian Klenner of Westtown ran a PA#6 time of 50.34 on the flat track at Ursinus to claim the win. Lydia Russell of Friends' Central ran a PA#8 time of 10:22.58 to win the 3K.
- At the Millrose Games Trials at the Armory (NY), Isabelle Goldstein of Germantown Academy placed fourth in 5:00.29, a time that moves her up to PA#2 on the season.
- At the Hempfield SP/PV/WT Competition #2, Nick Hyde of Somerset Area became the first PA boys this season to throw over 60 in the shot put. Hyde tossed 60-1 for the win, a PA#1 and US#10. Mackenna Orie of Hempfield Area threw a new PA#1 in the weight throw, winning with a toss of 43-10.5.
- At the SPIRE Scholastic Meet #1 in Ohio, Joey Bujdos of Indiana Area was a double winner. He ran a PA#1 1600 meter time of 4:28.58 for the win and then came back to win the 800 meters in 2:01.42. Conneaut Area's Meaera Shannon won the girls 1600 in 5:23.71.
- It was a double win day for Perkiomen Valley's Christina Warren at the Bears Invitational at Ursinus on Sunday. The senior won the 55 dash in 7.34 (PA#7) and the long jump with a leap of 18-7 (PA#3). Bishop McDevitt's Tyler Byrd ran a PA#5 of 6.57 to win the 55 meters and then he came back to take a very close second in the 200 meters (22.94). Carlisle's Jack Wisner ran 50.76 to win the 400 meters, a PA#7 time.
