Fields Are Loaded For Lehigh: PTFCA Carnival Preview

PTFCA Carnival - Boys Field Preview

We'll get a great state meet preview of sorts in the high jump. The two boys tied atop the state rankings -- Juan Mato-Segura of Reading and Cole Peterlin of Perkiomen Valley -- will go head-to-head. Also in the field is PA#3 Kolt Byers of Bermudian Springs, who is the reigning state champion, and PA#5 Tristan Jones of Plymouth Whitemarsh, which should make this one of the premiere events of the day.

Ezra Mellinger of Lampeter Strasburg is the one to beat in the long jump. He'll look to improve on his own PA#1 leap of 23-08.5, which he has jumped twice this winter. Liberty's Daeshawn Teague (PA#4) is also in the field and will be looking to follow up his season best jump from a few weeks ago. State College's Lance Hamilton and Spring Grove's Colson Martin will also be in the mix here.

The shot put will be a good one with 5 of the state's top 11 boys in the field. Leading the way is PA#5 Olatide Abinusawa of Germantown Academy. PA#6 Brock Harmon of Chambersburg, PA#9 Thomas Kitchell of Notre Dame Green Pond, PA#10 Brock Gingrich of Cocalico, and PA#11 Jason Wagner of Perkiomen Valley are also entered, in what will be a good event among many state medal hopefuls.

PA#6 Matt Julian of Penn Manor is the top seed in the pole vault. He'll be hoping to improve on his season best of 14-7.
