Boys' 4x400m Relay Preview
Pennridge has a deep squad of 400/800 talent, and it will be the ones to beat in the 4x400 on Sunday. The Rams come in with the state's best time this season at 3:22.35. With the best 400 meter in the state in Andersen Dimon, Pennridge will surely be difficult to challenge in the state meet's final race.
State College Area was second in that Kevin Dare race, clocking a 3:23.96. A lot can change in a month and a half and the Little Lions will be anxious to get another crack at Pennridge. There will also be team points on the line here. both Pennridge and SC figure to be among the favorites for team titles. The 4x4 could prove to be a deciding race.
Could anyone else make a run at the win? Sure. In a long meet with high stakes, it all depends on who has what left at the end of the day on Sunday. Neshaminy and Upper Darby were second and third to Pennridge at the TFCAofGP Meet of Champion, running flat track 3:27s at Lehigh. Both have strong anchors (of course so does Pennridge) and will be looking to make some moves in the final laps.
Penn Wood (3:26.99) and Bensalem (3:27.35) are two other teams that should make strong runs at the top five. Holy Ghost, Harry S. Truman, Overbrook, and Central Bucks West will also be in medal contention.
