Pennsylvania is strong year-in and year-out in the 800 meters. 2019 will be no exception with a talented crop of half milers back in the fold this season, sure to chase some quick times.

At the top of the returners list is Grace Forbes of Strath Haven. Last year, Forbes ran to the silver medal at outdoor states in AAA, a race won by State College's Esther Seeland. Forbes ran her best time of 2:10.97 in that state final. She'll look to close out her high school career with her first individual state title.

There's a terrific crop of AAA challengers lining up though. Greencastle-Antrim's Taryn Parks flashed her speed this winter, coming back from her mile state title to run 2:09.87 in the 800 for her second win. She showed even more speed, kicking to win the national title in 4:39 indoors. If she goes after the 1600/800 double at Ship, she'll be in the mix for the 800 win, surely (last year, she went fresh in the 1600)
