The Week That Was: PA Week 6 XC Recaps

The Legends Meet (OH) - Meet Recap

Led by Patrick Anderson's record-breaking performance, Mount Lebanon defended its Large Division boys' title at The Legends Meet in Ohio. The senior hit the finish in 15:09.3, winning by more than 35 seconds and smashing the course record of 15:24.8 set in 2015 by Tristan Dahmen, a multi-time XC and track state champion from host Maplewood. Barak Asher was fifth in 16:05.3 for Mike Agostinella's team, which has won the big school title in three of the past four years on the flat 5,000-meter layout.

In the Small School girls' race, Gianna Labbiento continued to return to form after a stress fracture limited her summer training. The Sharon junior was third in 18:37.3, losing to one of Ohio's top juniors and a defending state XC champion. Freshman teammate Natalie Ostheimer took almost a minute off her big meet PR, running 19:17.5 for seventh, and classmate Abby Douglas also had a lifetime best of 19:54.3 for 18th. Another freshman, Sarah Clark of Villa Maria, was sixth in the Large School race in 19:13, while Mt. Lebanon junior Alison Hodgson was 10th in 19:31.2 and McDowell sophomore Kyla Kramer was 15th in 19:47.2.
