Cheltenham's Brianna Smith will go for her first career state championship this winter in one of her best events, the high jump. The multi-talented Smith recently signed with Duke University and will have her sights set on competing for a national title in the pentathlon. But before that will come a quest for a state title. Smith cleared a best of 5-8 in the high jump last winter. She placed second to now-graduated Lydia Bottelier at indoor states. 

Smith had a strong spring in the high jump, placing third in at outdoor states in AAA. She'll be shooting for that top spot this winter. But, as always, the high jump can be an unpredictable event. Plenty of others will be in the mix to snatch the top spot in the state this year.

Haverford's Olivia Boyce broke through in a big way last season. She had her best day at Penn State, jumping 5-6 to take third place at indoor states. She just missed medaling at states outdoors, but should be a factor again this winter in her senior year.  Butler's
