
The 800 meters is always a show in Pennsylvania and this indoor season should be no different. Plenty of talented girls are back this season.
Taryn Parks of Greencastle-Antrim enters the season as the reigning state champ in the event. Last year as a junior, Parks went 2:09.87 to take the title after winning the mile earlier in the meet. Parks proved last season that she has the half mile speed to go along with her mile speed. She'll be tough to beat in the 8 again this season.
The top returner based on time is Kami Joi Hickson of Neumann Goretti, who enters her senior season. She was third at indoor states, but then popped off a 2:08.58 at indoor nationals to take 8th before anchoring the NG 4x8 to the national title. She'll be right in the mix for the state's top spot, too.
