AA Girls 4x100m Relay Preview
The District 4 Championships served as a bit of a preview of the state meet when it comes to the AA girls' 4x100. The top three seeds entering the state meet came out of that D4 meet. Milton Area ran to the win and the state's fastest 4x1 time this season -- a 49.86 to claim the title. Milton is hitting its stride at the right time and could be the team to beat at Ship.
But Bloomsburg and Hughesville weren't too far behind. Bloomsburg went 50.34, just off its season best of 50.33 for second. That's some good consistency that puts them in a good spot for the weekend. Hughesville, meanwhile put down a time of 50.78 for third in D4, and should be right in the conversation, as well.
Besides Milton, though, the only other team in the state to have run sub-50 is Schuylkill Valley. The District 3 champions went 50.89 to win this past week, but dropped a 49.93 at the Berks County Championships. This is a strong team ready to duke it out with the D4 squads.
The fast heat will have plenty of relays with very similar seed times. District 2 champs Lake Lehman, District 12 champs Paul Robeson, WPIAL champs Mohawk, and District 3 runners-up Wyomissing should all be right there in what could turn into a very close timed final. Anything can happen in the 4x1 and this one could get thrilling.
