This Week's Candidates:
(Listed in Random Order)
Colin Whitaker (Lampeter Strasburg) - Whitaker opened the XC season with a blazing 15:04 to finish fourth at the adidas XC Challenge. That time stands as a stout PA #1 and marks a 40-second-plus personal best.
Jack Bertram (North Allegheny) - Bertram continued his standout 2022 campaign with a win at the Boardman Spartan XC Invitational in Ohio. Bertram clocked a 175 speed rating and a 15:57 5k in the effort.
Simon Donovan (Germantown Friends) - Finished third at the George School Invitational with the second fastest time of the weekend by Pennsylvanians. Donovan ran 15:49, a 24-second personal best.
Manny Diaz (Bradford) - Diaz won his home invitational in an out-of-nowhere effort. He previous personal best was a 16:19, so to break 16 and win the meet by over thirty seconds, was really impressive.
Aidan McHugh (Episcopal Academy) - opened his season with a fourth place finish at the George School Invitational (15:56). He ran a minute-plus personal best and led Episcopal to a team victory at the Invite.
Joseph Fahrney (Hempfield (3)) - Won the AAA race at the Ben Bloser Invitational in a 16:01, outrunning Central Dauphin's Timothy Roden. He paced his team to a second place finish.
