Interestingly enough, this is the sixth week of Runner of the Week polls, and the respective eleventh and twelfth different winners. Brooke Preputnick claims this week's honors after her runner-up finish in the Paul Short Brown race this weekend. Preputnick ran a PA #3 17:46 by storming to a 22-second personal best. At the halfway mark, Preputnick was positioned in seventh, over six seconds behind the leader.

But over the final 2500 meters, Preputnick picked off four of the runners ahead of her and closed the gap to just 3.3 seconds behind the eventual winner. Her leadership led Hershey to a fifth place team finish.

Brian DiCola shocked the nation on Friday when he shattered Gary Martin's 1-year-old meet record at the Lehigh Paul Short Run (14:49) and Paul Springer's 15-year-old course record (14:47), running 14:43 to win the Brown Race.

DiCola ran the PA #1 and a US #7 in the effort. The performance was speed rated by Tully Runners at a 193, which marks the second fastest speed rating by a Pennsylvanian this year.
