Private School 4x400m - 12:06 PM
Roman Catholic is entered in the Private School Boys' 4x400m scheduled to start at 12:06 PM on Saturday. Entered at a 3:26.70 seed time, we expect them to target the PA No. 1 mark set by Central Bucks West at 3:23.93.
They will have stiff competition from New Jersey's Seton Hall Prep, who ran 3:20.36 at the Millrose Games Trials and are currently ranked 7th in the country.
Girls Long Jump - 1:29 PM
Avery Lewis (Friends' Central) is slated to compete in the girl's long jump competition. Each jumper will have three attempts in the preliminary rounds, and the Top 5 girls will advance to the finals.
Lewis enters ranked No. 5 in the nation with her jump of 19-11.25 at the VA Showcase. Alyssa Banales (TX), ranked second in the country (20-8.5), is also entered in the field, along with Lena Gooden (VA) and Camryn Cole (NY), who are ranked 13th and 15th, respectively.
Boys' 4x800m - 1:43 PM
The Boys' 4x800m Invitational features Episcopal Academy and Penncrest. Episcopal Academy enters with a seed time of 7:55.77, which they ran at the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival. That mark currently ranks them fourth in the country and the Top Pennsylvania team.
Penncrest has run as fast as 8:08.74 at the Armory HS Holiday Classic. That is a current PA No. 4.
Both teams will face the No. 1 team in the country, Chaminade (NY). Chaminade ran 7:51.91 at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix last week. Seton Hall Prep (NJ) - ranked 10th nationally, should also mix in, and don't count out Union Catholic (NJ).
Scopia Girls' 60m - 1:53 PM
Avery Lewis will double back in the girls' 60m dash, aiming to reclaim the state lead from Laila Campbell (Spring Grove). Lewis is ranked 14th nationally in the event. The top two girls in the nation - Montverde Academy's Micayah Holland and Adaejah Hodge have run 7.21 and 7.24, respectively.
Girl's 4x800m - 2:11 PM
After setting the US No. 1 DMR last weekend, the Haverford Township girls have their eyes set on a new mark. Currently ranked No. 6 in the US, they are likely chasing a US Top-5, which would require the team to shave just a second off their 9:25.44.
State College Area is also entered in the 4x800m. They hold the current PA No.2 with their 9:37.47. They'll try to chase Haverford and deliver an upset.
With Sarasota Springs (US No. 2) in the field, teams will have difficulty matching the 9:17 speed of that relay, but it could provide a solid opportunity to run fast in a loaded field.
Boys 300m - 2:53 PM
The non-traditional event could yield a quick time. Alexson Songor (Haverford Township) and Sahfi Reed (Martin Luther King HS) are entered in the boys' 300m. Reed is currently ranked 36th in the nation in the 300m.
Nike Girls' Mile - 3:11 PM
The Girls' Mile features Logan St. John Kletter (Mount Lebanon), Sophia Rodriguez (Dallastown), and Ella Woehlcke (Mount Saint Joseph). The three phenoms will represent the state and themselves in a loaded field of girls.
The three are ranked as the current PA No. 2, 3, and 4 runners, respectively. They have all run 4:58 or faster over the mile distance. Last week, Sophia Rodriguez broke the Indoor State record for eighth graders.
The field features incredibly talented girls' including Allie Zealand (VA), who has run 4:46.65.
