Many of PA's top college teams across all three divisions will compete at the 49th Paul Short Invitational this weekend, with a few colleges competing elsewhere or taking off. Read along to see where your favorite PA teams and runners will compete during the 5th week of the NCAA season!
The Division III Ranks
Metro Region No.1 Haverford and Mid-Atlantic Region No.1 Carnegie Mellon, among other top teams racing at Paul Short (Rankings via USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll). Penn State Abington, Thiel College, and other schools will host small invites this weekend.
Paul Short Invitational:
Haverford will be toeing the line for the second time this season. Keep an eye on the team's two impressive front runners, Peter LaRochelle and Nathaniel Leighninger.
As for Carnegie Mellon, this is a team with an incredibly deep pack led by the team's frontman, Colin McLaughlin. Matthew Porter, Ryan Ponder, and Matthew Short are all pack runners for the Tartans.
Moravian and Swarthmore are other top teams that will race at Paul Short. Standout individuals on these squads are Moravian's Owen Nahf and Swarthmore's Colin DeLaney.
Other Meets:
There are various other meets set to take place this weekend. Penn State Abington will host eight other D3 teams at their invite this weekend. Some smaller meets taking place are the Dan Talbot Open, the Thiel College Tomcat Rumble, and the Mount Aloysius Invitational.
