Drew Griffith and Eliza Miller were named last week's PA MileSplit Athletes of the Week (10/10 - 10/15) following their standout performances.

Butler's Drew Griffith earned last week's honors after his State Record run at the MileStat Invitational.

Griffith ran the fastest time in Pennsylvania history and the 16th best time in high school history as he covered 5000m in 14:21.00

Griffith came up just two-tenths of a second short of Drew Hunter's all-time Virginia soil record of 14:20.90.He ultimately bested Gary Martin's previous Pennsylvania best of 14:24.16. Martin ran that mark at the 2021 Garmin RunningLane XC Championships.

Eliza Miller (Kiski) ran a stellar 17:59 to win the Westmoreland County Coaches Championship.

Miller left the field in her wake as she stormed to a 30-second victory. Her finish helped Kiski finish third.

The time was a nine second personal best for Miller, who now ranks seventh in the state (based on season best time). The time is also believed to be a meet and course record.
