There were some incredible performances this past weekend. Each week - The PA MileSplit crew will nominate multiple athletes and allow you to vote for the Runner of the Week. This week's poll will close on Thursday (October 5th) at 11:59 pm ET

The Week's Boys Candidates:

Ryan Pajak (Ringgold) - Won his first Paul Short Run title this weekend when he won the Brown Race. Pajak ran away from Colin Whitaker and crossed the line in 15:07. He extended his undefeated season.

Rowan Carr (Penncrest) - The freshman finished seventh in the Paul Short Brown Race, running an absurd 15:42.9 in the process. He led his team to a fifth place finish. That time is also the second fastest by a freshman in state history.

Steven Todd (Bishop Shanahan) - Todd ran a big-time PR to win the Carlisle Invitational Champion race in 16:12.60. Todd opened a 13-second gap and led his team to a second place finish.

Cole Casadei (La Salle) - Casadei was the top Pennsylvanian in the field in the Carlisle Invitational Challenge race. He ran a personal best 15:23.7 and led his team to a second place finish. La Salle is now the top ranked team in the state.

Dane Spahr (Danville) - Steamrolled the competition at the NEPA Invitational in Bloomsburg. Spahr ran a 16:06.8, which was nearly 30-seconds faster than the next runner. 

Giacomo Lepore (North Catholic) - Lepore ran away with the win at the Youthtowne Clash. Giacomo ran 15:49 to win the clash over Nathan Garrett.


The Week's Girls Candidates:

Virginia Kraus (Moravian Academy) - Kraus ran an intelligent race and proceeded to snag the Paul Short Brown Run title in 17:57.00. The sophomore now boasts Top Five finishes in both of her Paul Short Run experiences.

Kaitlyn Highduch (Governor Mifflin) - Finished second in the Carlisle Invitational Challenge Race with a new personal best 18:06.70. Highduch is having a breakout campaign, that now features four Top-2 Finishes.

Caroline Adams (Mount Lebanon) - Adams ran 18:14.47 to win the Youthetowne Clash in a new personal best. The senior dictated the race from the front a delivered a decisive 22-second victory.

Madison Hedglin (Dallas) - Hedglin won the Lehigh University Paul Short White Race over Lillian DiCola on Saturday. Hedglin ran from the front and crossed the line in 18:26.90. She has established herself as a state title contender.

Gabby Pistner (Saint Marys Area) - Ran 18:59.80 to win the NEPA Invitational. Pistner led her team to the second place finish.
