They're back. Allentown Central Catholic stayed home in the Lehigh Valley and had two previously ranked Northeast teams come to them. With 80 points in the large field, it was enough to beat Warwick Valley NY's 97, and Gwynedd-Mercy's 107. Foot Locker finalist Aislinn Ryan of Warwick Valley easily won the race in a quick 17:25. Gwynedd's Kate Vernon was 2nd in 18:38. In the boys race, E#9 Monsignor Farrell won the boys race by 37 over West Chester East, 2nd with 109. Central Bucks South's Kyle Murray went 15:41 to win. Murray took control by the mile, going through in 4:57 with Farrell's #1 runner, Danny Lewis. They were still together at two, but Murray had the horses to pull away. West Chester East's Duriel Hardy was 2nd in 15:57. And 14-year-old Neely Spence made her high school debut - in the college open 6k race because she is homeschooled - and finished 4th on the 6k course, running 22:04. The time would have placed her 45th in the College Women's Invitational.
