3200 Meter Run

The day's festivities got off to an electric start when Lewisburg junior Baylee Espinosa set a PIAA record with an AA gold, earning 10:18.91, breaking the 3-year-old mark by less than a second. Not far behind, a stellar 10:26.78 from Cecilia Montagnese of Quaker Valley was good for silver, while Wellsboro sophomore Lauren Kosek's time of 10:45.51 completed a competitive top three.

In the Girls' AAA, Saucon Valley's Virginia Kraus touched the 1:20s just once in her eighth lap run as she earned the top step of the podium with a 10:22.08. Separated by less than a tenth of a second, Emmaus's Madelyn McCartney (10:29.51) edged Carlisle's Ana Bondy (10:29.58) for the runner-up spot.

The Boy's AA saw its second PIAA record broken on the day, when Mohawk's Jaxon Schoedel broke through the 9-minute barrier with an 8:59.34, shattering a record that stood for 27 years. Within range were Freeport's Michael Braun (9:05.82) and Lewisburg's Jonathan Hess (9:09.35), who took second and third.

The AAA event saw two sub 9 minute times in the form of Manheim's Adam Kingston (8:51.25) and North Allegheny's Jack Bertram (8:52.28.) State College's Isaac Oppermann (9:04.13) completed the top three of the event.

100/110 Meter Hurdles

From the longest event of the day to one of the quickest, Sharon's Ondrea Young (14.56) took half a second from the field in an AA victory. Separated by five one-hundredths of a second with Audra Lazzara (15.10) and Brookville's Hannah Geer (15.15).

The standard was set further in the AAA event, when Ella Bahn (13.64) broke the 14 second barrier, the only athlete in the event to do so on the weekend. Kennett's Aydriane Bowden (14.07) and Wilson's Violet Houck (14.22) held off a competitive field that saw everyone finishing under the 14.52 mark.

Just a tenth away from the Boy's AA 110 record, Nativity's Noah Dolbin (14.10) stood alone in the gold medal event. With just five one-hundredths of a second separating second and third, Quaker Valley's Davin Gartley and Corry's Blake Cook completed the top three with times of 14.28 and 14.33.

In the AAA event, the stoic and pragmatic Tyler Burgess, who 24 hours before broke the PIAA record in the prelims, splintered his record Saturday with a first-place worthy 13.63. With just .12 seconds separating 2nd and 6th, Norwin's Ryan Schiller (14.36) and Sun Valley's Mohamed Wahdan Jr. (14.43) secured second and third from a competitive field.

100 Meter Dash

The standard in the 100 100-meter dash was set high after the pair of Viktorya Luckenbach (11.81) and Piper Hoprich (11.99) both broke the 12-second barrier to finish in the AA top two. Not far behind, Hickory's Josslyn Hancock (12.05) held off the field for third.

Two more athletes would break 12 seconds in the AAA event, with Cheltenham's Amirah Nesmith (11.69) and JP McCaskey's Ella Petrosky (11.84) separating themselves from the pack. Third place would be Stroudsburg's Alena Murray with a time of 12.10.

With a 2.6 miles per hour headwind, Mercyhurst's Vincent Feliciano (10.85), Miversville's Paiten LaPoint (10.96), and Brandywine Heights's David Bates (11.10) secured the top three in a gritty Boys AA event.

As the wind died down for the AAA event, the times got quicker as Central Dauphin's Gabriel Scott (10.43,) Owen J. Roberts Matthew Gregory (10.52,) and George Washington's Shaun McCoullum (10.57) set the pace in the fastest event of the day.


4x800 Meter Relay

In the Girl's AA group, Warrior Run had been a force throughout the season, and managed to live up to their reputation in comeback fashion to take the event with a 9:27.91. Leading after two splits, Oley Valley would settle for second with a 9:30.85, with third place Belonging to Cranberry at a 9:38.81 mark.

The AAA was more clear-cut, as Central Bucks East (9:03.23) led the entire way for an impressive win. It was a more adventurous journey for Owen J Roberts (9:12.59), who came back from 11th place on the first handoff to take silver. Upper Dublin (9:14.14) came back from 21st place on the same handoff.

For the Boys AA, Quaker Valley's time of 7:56.89 topped the timesheets thanks to sub-two-minute legs on the third and fourth set. Winchester Thurston (8:00.11) and Lake Lehman (8:04.30) rounded out the top three despite both being outside the top seven on the first handoff.

But the most dramatic comeback in the relay came in the AAA boys. In ninth place at the halfway mark and trailing by 50 meters on the final stretch, North Penn saw the line first with a 7:48.28 mark. In the top three, both Saint Joseph's Prep (7:48.46) and La Salle College (7:49.06) settled for second and third.

4x100 Meter Relay

From the longest relay event to the quickest, the girls AA featured a top three separated by six tenths of a secon. Leading the line was North Catholic's 48.06, followed by times of 48.46 and 48.66 by Annville-Cleona and Lewisburg for a star studded top three.

The gap in the AAA girls event would prove even closer, as Parkland took gold in a dramatic 47.41 set. Lower Merion (47.64) would edge Downingtown West (47.67) for second by a gap of just three one-hundredths of a second.

The Boys AA event would see immense standards, with four different schools finishing under 43 seconds. Taking the top spot would be Central Clarion (42.48) with Beaver Area (42.67) and Hickory (42.82) completing the top three.

The Boys' AAA pushed the standard even further, with four schools breaking the sub-42-second barrier.Cumberland Valley would reign supreme with a time of 41.38. In a gap separated by the thousands, Garnet Valley (41.68) took second over Palmyra (41.68) to complete the top three.

400 Meter Dash

Tori Atkins would escape the pack early in the girls' AA competition, besting the rest by over two seconds to take gold with a time of 55.55. Brenna Kuhl of Seneca took second with a 57.63 mark, with the top three rounded out by a 58.17 time by Imhotep Charter's Soleil Kelly.

The AAA event was similarly dominated by Cedar Crest's Kaddel Howard (54.37,) who continues her immaculate high school career with a first place finish. Two seconds behind, Aniya Holder of Dieruff catapulted into second with a time of 55.86, less then a tenth away from third place's Quincey Robertson of Cumberland Valley (55.94.)

For the Boys AA title, Greensburg Central Catholic's Jerry Davis took the crown with a 48.50 time. Also under the 49-second mark was West Catholic's Shymir Bevins, who took second with a 48.99 mark. Placing third was James Irwin of Quaker Valley (49.17).

In the AAA competition, Ade Lloyd boosted his resume this season with a state champion time of 46.52. Only three other athletes would find a time under 48 seconds, with Springfield's Carlo Johnson (47.39) and Lorenz Forsmann (47.43) sharing the spoils in the top three.


300 Meter Hurdles

A familiar name took the first gold in the event at the girl's AA level, with Hughesville's Kylie Temple securing the top spot with a 43.45 mark. Right behind her was Redbank Valley senior Mylee Harmon (44.15,) and Greenwood's Rebekah Brinser (45.42.)

The AAA race proved much moree competitive, as Spring Grove junior Ella Bahn's time of a 41.98 captured the gold medal by less then a tenth of a second, with Kennett's Aydriane Bowden (42.04) settling for second. Eight tenths later, Felicia Grimmelbein would complete the top three at a 42.90 split.

One of the closest races of the day came in the Boys AA division, with the top three separated by less than four tenths of a second. Ultimately, it would beb Corry's Blake Cook (37.56) escaping victorious ahead of Quaker Valley's Davin Gartley (37.58) and Navivity's Noah Dolbin (37.94.)

In the AAA section, the 37-second barrier would break as Palmyra's Tyler Burgess (36.99) topped the timing sheet. Two others would bring in times below 38 seconds to complete the podium, with Canon-McMillan Aaron Taylor (37.43) in second and Clearfield's Brady Collins (37.71) in third.

800 Meter Run

The gold medal in the AA Girls' Division would come in comeback fashion, as Greenville's Karis McElhaney (2:12.65) made a 2-second improvement from her first lap to her last in the comeback win. First through a lap ran, Trinity's Eilidh Edgar (2:13.61) would finish second while Warrior Run's Natalie Hall (2:13.65) finished third by less than half a tenth.

The AAA Girls' event proved more clear-cut, as Olivia Cieslak of Haverford Township scored another goal with a 2:03.84. Five seconds away was Owen J Roberts' Jane Kratz (2:08.80) and Lower Moreland's Annie Moniz (2:09.00), who settled for third.

The Boys AA proved close with Annville-Cleona's David Moran (1:56.17) taking first by four tenths of a second from Quaker Valley's Clark LaLomia (1:56.56), who came back from 14th place at the halfway mark. A similar comeback took place from Hughesville's Tyce Shaner, who came from 15th on the grid at 400 to finish third.

In an event miard with controversy on multiple false starts, Mifflin County's Carter Smith (1:50.56) proved calm heads prevail for the state title. Josh Sharp of Upper Darby (1:51.82) and Radnor's Joseph Garzio (1:52.16) completed the top three.

200 Meter Dash

The AA Girls' group saw favorite Viktorya Luckenbach of Pine Grove reach gold with a 24.57 sprint. Second and third would be separated by half a tenth, as Conemaugh's Izzy Slezak (24.89) and Willsboro's Piper Hoprich (24.96) fill out the top three spots.

The AAA Girls' race also featured a clear-cut winner in Cheltenham's Amirah Nesmith, forging ahead with a state title-clinching 24.07. A domineering dash from JP McCaskey's Ella Petrosky (24.43) secured second, with Kennett's Aydriane Bowden (24.72) in third.

Little seperated the Boy's AA race thhat saw first from eighth seperated by less then seven tenths In the end, it would be Minersville's Paiten LaPoint securing gold with a 22.16 mark. Brandywine Height's David Bates placed second with a 22.29; while a seperation in the thousandths allowed Mercyhurst Prep sophomore Vincent Feliciano to take bronze.

The competition grew tougher in the AAA Boys' event, with all eight finalists finishing under 22 seconds. With a time of 21.05, State College senior Jesse Myers clinched first place, followed by Central Dauphin's Gabriel Scott (21.14) and Owen J Roberts' Matthew Gregory (21.30).

4x400 Meter Relay

The Championships on the track concluded with the 4x400 Meter Relay, starting with the Girls AA group. In a back-and-forth competition that saw the top three interchanging until the final stretch, Central Columbia (3:56.03) made up six places in three laps for the victory. Lewisburg (3:59.05) and Hughesville (3:59.65) completed a District Four top three.

In the girls' AAA, Cumberland Valley (3:50.29) came back from seventh at the halfway point to win the final girls' event. Central Bucks East (3:51.74), who stayed in the top two throughout, settled for second while Parkland (3:52.77) placed third after leading through the third leg.

The top three in the boys AA event, Quaker Valley (3:21.69), jumped to an early lead and held off Nativity BVM (3:22.05) and Central Columbia (3:22.78) for the win. All three schools remained in their top three spots from the first handoff.

Closing out the track events was the AAA Boys, as Downingtown West (3:13.86) captured the final goal of the day from La Salle College (3:16.03) and Twin Valley (3:18.64).
