The June USATF Junior Olympic Regionals showcased some special performances, highlighted by the Philadelphia Area meet on June 11th at Edison HS. While the best sprints came from the older girls, there was a new talent on the horizon in Chantae Moore, who runs for Blue Wave in the Midget (11-12) age group. She won three events, the 100 in 12.40, the 200 in 26.18 and the 400 in 1:01.81. Remember the name. In the Youth Girls, Shanae Bailey, Mt. Airy TC, took the 100 in 12.09 and the 200 in 25.52. Clarenchell Tate, also of Mt. Airy TC, went 11.84 and 24.72 for the same double. There was a double one-two-three in the distances, as Lavaughn Jones and Sherece Bailey, both of Juventus TC, and Alexandra Brasington of the United Stars, kept the same order in the 1500 and 3000. In the Young Women\'s competition, Simone Carter won two for her Philadelphia Striders team, going 12.12 and 25.68. Shawn David of Mt. Airy TC was at the front again in Youth Boys, going 22.97 and 54.24 for the 200-400 double. Cambria Youth TC\'s Alfonso Haggard went 10.81 for the Intermediate Boys 100 win. In Youth Men, Phatback Athletic\'s Kevin Talley ran 22.02, while teammates Khalif Featherstone and Zach Malet took first in the 400 and 800, respectively, at 49.84 and 2:00.74.

In the South Central PA meet on June 4th at South Western HS in Hanover, Heather Burdette of York won four events in the Young Women classification, going 1:07.9 in the 400, 17.0 for the 100 Hurdles, 59.6 for the 300 Hurdles, and Long-Jumping 15-0. In Intermediate Boys action, it was Hanover\'s Michael Hoffacker going 2:22.4 in the 800 and 4:41.2 for 1500. Brandon Bear of York won two, taking the 1500 in 4:33.9 and the 3000 in 9:51.2 in YM.

In the North Central meet on June 4th at Lock Haven University, it was Brandon Eck taking the 400 in 51.49 and the 800 in 2:11.24.

In the South Eastern PA competition on June 12th at Pottstown, Devan Coon of Tri-County Express tripled, going 12.4, 26.7, and 1:01.0 in the Intermediate Girls races. Teammate Megan Van Buskirk took two of the jumps, with 16-05.75 and 36-04.25 efforts. In Young Men\'s action, West Chester TC\'s Andrew McCloskey doubled in 11.1 and 22.8, while Ambler\'s Duane Hynes and Polar Bear Track\'s Brandon Tress had a quick race in the 110 hurdles, with Hynes getting first, 14.6 to 14.8.
