1/5 - Three boys and three girls threw for elite distances in the Shot Put

If you're a fan of the field events, Kutztown was the place to be 1/5 to see the best Shot Put competition of the year to date as three boys and three girls threw for elite distances. (Sorry, not all first names available). For the boys, Wyomissing's Jon Hart went 56-2, the second best in the state this year behind Conestoga's Steve Meyers. Dave Miller of Schuylkill Valley threw 53-2*, while Wilson's R. Kanfman threw 52-2. For the girls, William Penn (DE)'s Lateefah Vaughn went 41-1*, a state record in Delaware. Cocalico's Jenelle Stoner was second with her 38-10.25, and Raritan (NJ)'s Silva Bridgewater threw 38-7*. In the Long Jump, Pennridge's Brooke Wolf left 17-10, and in the 55 Hurdles, Norristown's Courtney Clark was nipped by Tiffany Nesfield of C.H. Flowers, 8.65-8.57.
