Which Pennsylvania boys' distance squads return the most talent across the board next spring?
We looked at the data of the returning boys in the 800, 1600, and 3200 to determine which teams have the most depth in those events. Greensburg Salem, including the quick Cameron Binda (above) are one of those top teams.
For these rankings, we took into account performances from this past outdoor season for athletes that are returning next year. After that, we used our "Cross Country Team Scores" feature, which ranks each performance and assesses points for each place (i.e. 1st place = 1 point). The lowest score takes the top spot. For these rankings, we scored out to three athletes for each events (instead of the usual five in XC). We only used athletes returning to high school competition next spring. Each team must have performances by at least three performances by different athletes in each event to have a qualifying score.
These rankings aren't necessarily "relay" rankings for returners, but rather should give you an idea of the depth of each team. Check out the returning boys distance team rankings below:
