Conestoga\'s Liz Costello is relatively new to this level of racing, but it certainly isn\'t fazing her in the least, finishing a strong 3rd to Ohio star Bridget Franek and Michigan\'s Kellee Lemcke, running 18:29.10. In the boys\' race, Hatboro Horsham\'s Josh Hibbs was 7th in 15:55.10, leading the PA team to a 3rd place finish...

Quips roll to AA title and beat West Mifflin in two key races. Ken King, Jeff Weiss and Katie Roll rule distance. Jordan Veney puts up nat stats in Discus and Shot Put. Nicole Smith wins two of four. (New photos added Friday night.)

Nicole Smith of McDowell, and Erin Hannon of Bradford will hopefully face each other at States in an event or two, but for this meet, they took aim at each other from different events, each getting a US#3 mark. And Rob Rankin is US#5 after an indoor Shot Put PR.

Nicole Smith of McDowell has been dominating western PA field events for a few years. Her heir apparent - Bradford junior Erin Hannon - is not only challenging her, but the two simply took over the top spots in the state triple jump with performances that are also nationally ranked. Max Brown, North Allegheny, and Jake Walker, Ellwood City, were at it again, but this time at a shorter distance.

North Allegheny junior Max Brown hasn\'t had a lot of luck in recent seasons, getting sick just in time for Districts. But this winter he\'s healthy, and he\'s showing what a few observant WPIAL coaches have known all along... the kid has talent.
