Rant…
No, no, maybe I won't rant…  :-)  "What counts in sport is not the victory, but the magnificence of the struggle" – Joe Pa

This isn't a cop-out because I haven't achieved what I've wanted to…BUT, I have to keep reminding myself that I have to take the small steps first, I have to take care of the minor details first, I have to focus on my day-to-day goals before I start looking at yearly goals…   I have to keep the big picture in my head, but remember the pixels it takes up to make up that big picture :-).  When you're setting goals for yourself, set realistic goals…THIS DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN'T DREAM.   I always have that "big" dream, the dream that every runner has, in the back of my head…  BUT you have to set reachable goals in the short-term so that all of these small goals will help you reach your dreams down the road.   Keep your eyes set on each step in front of you instead of looking up all the way at the top at the shining gold….BAM, and then you trip.  But dream of the final goal, but you can't skip the small steps!

Sunday – November 11, 2007

Training:  60 minutes
Day Mileage:  8.5 miles
Week Total:  57 miles
Details:  Oh man, I'm dead!!!  Those hills and the stress this week really knocked me oouuuuutttt!

The snow is on its way!  This is gonna' get rough!   I have to search for roads that are always cleared again so I don't bust my ars!  It happens to me every year…  Actually almost never running, but when I'm walking around!   What is wrong with me!  Hahaha!  Running in bad weather is rough…Well, it depends what you consider bad…   But winter is supposed to last a long time this year here in Switzerland, according to the weather people, because the planet's people are out of control with pollution…which is leading to global warming (already happening)… and those people won't do anything about it until it's too late…hence, the prediction of a crazy winter!   Let's hope mankind will be able to live on Mars because we are going to trash this planet if this sh"% keeps up.  Ah consumerist, planet-destroying societies…   We will learn from our mistakes…Well, maybe not us, but definitely our future offsprings offspring's offspring!!!!

Anyway, in the end I go back to my old slogan…You either ran today or you didn't, there is no in between!   The first 10 minutes in a snow storm SUCKS, but then once you've actually warmed up, you're really glad you got out there…The hardest part is looking out the window, getting dressed, and actually getting out there…Once you're out there it's like, what the hell, I didn't put on my running clothes and shoes for nothing so you HAVE to go…It's the part of sitting around in your jeans by a fireplace or by the heater looking at the snow storm outside wondering if you can somehow justify a day off…….   Hahahha!
