Back on track….

I'm back into the swing of things and I'm feeling pretty good.   I've had a lot of stuff to do for school lately, but I've been hangin' in there and have been able to get everything in!  I have some final papers to turn in soon and a final exam, but am still chuggin' along nicely.   I just always have to make sure I use every minute possible to get some work done!  I always have my nose in a book or in some journal or am staring at my lap top with my fingers racing…   I haven't hit any really high mileage, but I'm happy to even hit 60 at the moment because of school, work, and running.  The semester has been pretty crazy and from the looks of it, it's only going to get busier!   But hey, that's what I signed up for!  The thing is that I am getting my teaching degree the same time as my master's, here in Switzerland you have to have a special degree to teach, but then of course, in Switzerland, teachers make as much as doctors do in the States and are much more respected, as they should be!   So anyway, you also can't really do anything with a bachelor's degree over here either so I guess I'm going in the right direction!  Student teaching just started up as well, but luckily, I can do most of my student teaching when I have vacation from the University of Berne because we have off from Christmas up until Feb. 18th, so my vacation will be filled with teaching high-school aged students!  :-)
Anyway, organizing everything so I'm even able to train is important to me, but sometimes difficult!   But, my big bro always says, do it right or don't do it at all, so that's what I'm going to try to do better!  I want to really include all the elements into my training that are necessary.   I still go to the gym every Monday and Friday so at least I am getting the strength training in… But I have to do a lot more for my feet as a future marathoner should!   I have to do all those little exercises to strengthen my arches and the bottom of my feet…  It's really weird to do, but the professional marathoners get it in and always tell me how important it is!
Oh yeah, the biggest problem I had about 3 months ago for 2 months long is the fact that I had sleeping problems.   I don't know what the hell was going on!  I just could not sleep!  I would fall asleep fine, but then wake up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep.   When it first started I figured it was a full moon or something, because I can never sleep a couple days before a full moon… But then it stretched out over weeks and I knew it wasn't that, but something else…   Anyway, so I went to the doctor and got some sort of organic spray because he didn't want to give me sleeping pills…  But that only helped some of the time… Anyway, now I'm back on track with sleeping AND training.   It was really rough to get out and run a good pace when I would almost fall asleep on the train on the way back from school to training!  I can't function without enough sleep anyway so I had a rough time.   Looking back on it, I guess it was that I had a bunch of presentations going on at school, but I wasn't nervous for them!  Or maybe it was because I was thinking about school AND moving…   Could be it, have no idea, but it was really weird.  It's good to be sleeping about 9 hours  a night again!
