Freshmen sprinters set for Nats
If we're not in the golden era of sprinting in the state of Pennsylvania, then I don't know what you'd call it. The craziest part is two of the girls leading the charge happen to be ninth graders. Girard College's Thelma Davies and Pennridge's Kouri Peace will be on the hunt for fast times this weekend in North Carolina.
Davies, who blasted an 11.58 to win the AA 100 meters at states and break Lauryn Williams' 2001 meet record, will look to drop that time this weekend. She had success at indoor nationals, running a national freshman record in the 60 meters and she could have a shot at similar success this weekend.

Peace is entered in the 100 and 200 meters. Because of soccer commitments, Peace ran in the "Emerging Elite" sections at indoor nationals and found plenty of success. This time, she's slated for the "Championship" sections in both events and it could be a big weekend to close out Peace's already spectacular freshman campaign.
