
Thelma Davies of Girard College has been solidifying herself as the top sprinter in Pennsylvania state history. Last spring, she took down the long-standing state record in the 100 meters, running 11.43 at New Balance Nationals. She placed third there. This winter, she broke her own state record in the 60 meters. Now the junior is aiming a big spring season.
Davies is as close as one can get to untouchable. She'll look to win her third straight AA state title in the 100 meters. The only true question remains is how far up the all-time national list Davies can go.
In AAA, four finalists/medalists are back from the state meet last year. At the top is the defending champion, Hunter Robinson of Avonworth/Northgate. The versatile sprinter could be chasing the trifecta this season (110m, 200m and 400m), but there's no doubt she has the talent to get it done.
