Jordan Geist captivated the nation during his career, rewriting the record books in the shot put and keeping us on our heels all along the way. But Geist, and a very talented Class of 2017, have graduated, meaning it's time for some new faces to step in the spotlight. While it may be a while before we see another 70-footer in the shot -- perhaps never again -- we'll still see many great matchups in the event this season.

The two top returners from last spring are Selinsgrove's Keith Dreese and Bradford Area's John Eakin. Dreese, a senior, was seventh at outdoor states last year and has the best throw from a returner -- 58-07 -- from a dual meet last year. He was eighth at indoor states, but he should be in the mix for an outdoor state crown in AAA.

Eakin was sixth in the AAA at states last year, the top finishing non-senior. He followed that up with a terrific winter, throwing 57-05.75 to win the indoor state title with a big PR. He has that clutch gene and he'll be tough to beat this sp...
