Meet Preview: PAISAA Championships

Boys Preview - PAISAA Championships

Individuals

The Inter-Ac champ and the Friends League champ will go head-to-head in what should be an interesting race for the PAISAA title. Jeffrey Love of George School won his home invite earlier this season and has some good momentum coming into the meet. He was third last season.

The challenger is Robert DiDonato, an XC newcomer who has been getting better and better this season. He was second to Love at the George School Invite and then dropped a 16:07 at Paul Short before his Inter-Ac win on Monday. It should be close between Love and DiDonato.

There are a host of others who will look to mix it up with the favorites. Freshman Zachary Brill of Malvern Prep was second in the Inter-Ac. Miles Gomez-Younkin and Ben Rosin of Germantown Friends finished together in second and third at Friends League. Both will be worth watching for on Saturday.

Teams

The Germantown Friends boys will be going for its fourth straight PAISAA title, and it's likely not much will stand in the way of the Tigers. GFS put four boys in the top six at the Friends League Championships and scored 29 points for the win.

Malvern Prep won the Inter-Ac title on Monday, edging out Penn Charter by one point. Both teams will look to challenge GFS on Saturday. Westtown (second in the FSL) and George School (third in the FSL) will also look for big days at Belmont.
