8 Impact Freshmen In Pennsylvania

Fore Abinusawa (Germantown Academy)

What They Have Done So Far: When we first saw Abinusawa at the season-opening Ursinus Invitational, we knew we were seeing something special. Her first final lasted less than 7 seconds, but that was more than enough to prove that she is a star.

Abinusawa ran 6.95 for 55 meters and went to the top of the national rankings right away. Since then, she's run a US#13 24.51 on a flat track at Ursinus and then bettered her own US#1 in the 55 at the Hispanic Games.

What's To Come: Abinusawa's limits are yet to be seen, but suffice to say, the start to her career is nothing short of remarkable. She didn't match up head-to-head with Thelma Davies at the Hispanic Games, but the pair are likely on a collision course between big meets like the Millrose Games and the PTFCA Indoor Championships. Those will be a pair of can't-miss races.

Abinusawa's outdoor PRs from her AAU career speak for themselves (11.59 in the 100 meters and 23.56 in the 200 meters). As she gets deeper into her high school career, it's hard to imagine many sprint records being off limits. For now, we'll keep an eye on those indoor freshmen all-time marks.
