AA Boys' 4x800m Preview
At Saturday's District 4 Championships, the state's top three AA times and five of the top six seeds went down. Mount Carmel Area won a close one in 8:02.44 over Warrior Run (8:03.43) and Lewisburg Area (8:03.94) in what could serve as a preview of sorts for what's to come on Saturday morning. THese D4 squads are battled-tested coming into the state meet.
North East is the one non-D4 team to break up those top six. They went 8:06 to win the District 10 title last week. Central Columbia and Wyalusing Valley, the other D4 qualifiers should also get in the mix; neither can be counted out, not being far off the top squads at their district meet.
Another team you can't count out are the defending state champions from Wyomissing Area. Wyo always has a wealth of middle distance talent, and the District 3 champions have run 8:08.75 this season.
Elk County Catholic, Grove City Area, and Smethport Area will also be worth keeping an eye on in what will be a very close race once again for the state title.
This could very well take a sub-8 time to take the win here, as these squads push themselves
