The Week That Was: PA Week 3 XC Recaps

Centaur Invitational - Meet Recap

Girls

Olivia Haas of Blue Mountain took down the course record at DeSales University, running 18:28 for the win against a strong field. It's Haas' second win of the season and the sophomore is proving to be in a great spot fitness-wise in mid-September.

Northern Lehigh's Reagan Pender was second in 19:00, while Liberty's Emily Jobes ran well to take third in 19:21.

Emmaus captured the team title with 79 points, edging out a strong team in Exeter Township, which took second with 97 points. A strong top four got the job done for Emmaus. Led by freshman Hailey Reinhard's ninth place finish, the Hornets top four was separated by just 15 seconds between spots 9 and 13.

Boys

Liberty's Cole Frank captured the win at DeSales, making his season invite debut a big one. The junior went 16:11 on Saturday to take the win. Southern Lehigh's Alex Kane was second in 16:26 in a matchup between two of District 11 Class AAA's top individuals. Watch for this battle again later in the season.

Downingtown East made a big statement, taking the team title over PA No. 10 Twin Valley. East scored 62 points led by sophomore Brendan Flynn, who was fifth in 16:42. It's the second straight strong invite for East, which took second at Northampton a few weeks ago. Twin Valley, led by third place Noah Taylor (16:28) took second, down one of its top runners, with 102 points. Central Bucks South was third with 135 points.
