8/7-Neely Spence PR\'s w/ 5:09.48 1600 for 2nd @ Hershey T&F North American Champs

14-year-old Neely Spence, the oldest daughter of US Olympian Steve Spence, set a PR for 1600 of 5:09.48 at the Hershey's Track & Field North American Championships held at the Milton Hershey School. The performance earned her a 2nd place in the 13-14 age-group behind Stephanie Smith, a 14-year-old from Aurora, Ontario, who set a meet record of 5:01.37.

There were other great performances as well, including Bloomfield Connecticut's Stacey-Ann Smith, 13, who went 12.73 for 100 meters. Lebanon, (PA) 14-year-old Kyle Youtz threw a softball 241-06 for the win. And the 200's were quick, as Dalilah Muhammed, 14 of Jamaica, New York, went 26.33 to win the girls' race, and Joshua Chestang,13, of Moss Point, Mississippi, went 24.67.In the 13-14 800, Diana Boultbee, 13, of Belleville,Ontario won in 2:18.78.
