Alli DeLisi was voted last weeks Athlete of the Week after a stand-out performance at the adidas XC Challenge. She ran a stellar 18:07.2 to finish 12th. In doing so, she ran a 32-second personal best.
The trackster is known for her speed over the 800m and 1600m distances, so to see that begin to translate to strong performances on the Cross Country course is a welcoming sign.
DeLisi's time currently ranks as a PA #6 and it was also the fastest time by a Pennsylvanian athlete in the meets history. The previous PA-best at the adidas XC Challenge was an 18:10 performance by Stephanie Aldrich (West Chester Henderson) in 2012.
Ethan Vaughan earned the honors after a stand-out performance at the the Kiski Invitational. Vaughan broke the 16-minute barrier for the first time en-route to a 17-second victory.
He led his team to a dominant team triumph as Fox Chapel outscored Taylor Allderdice 33-88.
His 15:58 currently ranks 12th amongst juniors. The time is also considered a meet record.
For Vaughan, the win marks his second invitational win on the young season.
