Boys' Notes and Ones to Watch

1A Boys - 10:45 AM

Qualifying - 2 Teams and 10 Individuals

Individuals: Landon Hostetter (Annville-Cleona) is the 1A favorite. Hostetter is no stranger to the Big Spring course, as the reigning 1A District 3 champion and the 2023 Ben Bloser Invitational champion. Henry Friedrichs (Veritas Academy), the 1A Ben Bloser runner-up, will be Hostetter's biggest competition.

Teams: Annville-Cleona, York Catholic, Tulpehocken.

2A Boys - 12:30 PM

Qualifying - 3 Teams and 15 Individuals

Individuals: Expect to see Colin Whitaker (Lampeter Strasburg) clock the fastest time of the day. The University of Notre Dame commit will likely go uncontested to defend his 2A District 3 title. It will be a race for second between David Giles (Wyomissing Area), Andrew Namatka (East Pennsboro), and Tyler Shunk (Northern Lebanon).

Teams: Conrad Weiser, Wyomissing Area, Lampeter Strasburg.

3A Boys - 2:15 PM

Qualifying - 5 Teams and 25 Individuals

Individuals: Vinay Raman (Hershey) has the potential to take the title, but it won't be a walk in the park. A deep pole of contenders, such as fellow Mid Penn runners Hayden Parks (Greencastle-Antrim) and Ari Snyder (Chambersburg), will surely give Raman an honest fight for the title. We also can't overlook Manheim Township's duo of Adam Kingston and Cole Stevens as individuals who will be in the mix. Don't forget about Ramon Urena Batista (Lebanon) either.

Teams: PA #5 Manheim Township and PA #7 Hershey will make for an exciting matchup. Manheim Township topped Hershey at the PIAA Foundation meet 140-220. However, a week later, Hershey closed the gap at Paul Short, only losing by one point. PA #15 Chambersburg, PA #18 Elizabethtown, and Exeter Township are other teams to watch.

Girls' Notes and Ones to Watch

1A Girls - 10:00 AM

Qualifying - 2 Teams and 10 Individuals

Individuals: Madeline Murphy (York Catholic) will look to defend her District title. She'll have to fend off a strong Abigail Gehris (Tulpehocken), who beat Murphy earlier in the season at the Ben Bloser Invitational. Sheila Driscoll (York Catholic) and Natalie Creason (Covenant Christian Academy) will also be in the mix.

Teams: York Catholic, Covenant Christian Academy, Lancaster Catholic.

2A Girls - 11:45 AM

Qualifying - 3 Teams and 15 Individuals

Individuals: Kaydence Strange (Eastern York) is having a solid season, demonstrating her confidence on the Big Spring course earlier in the season, winning the 2A Ben Bloser title in 19:15.12. Returning district runner-up Addie Cohen (Wyomissing Area) will be a contender along with Molly Myers (Donegal), Aubrey Ressler (Pequea Valley), and Lila Shore (Trinity).

Teams: Donegal, Bishop McDevitt, York Suburban.

3A Girls - 1:30 PM

Qualifying - 5 Teams and 25 Individuals

Individuals: Claire Paci (Greencastle-Antrim), last year's 3A district runner-up, and Kaitlyn Highduch (Governor Mifflin) will make for an exciting race. Paci won the 3A race at Ben Bloser in an impressive 17:54.37, although Highduch bested Paci by nearly 10 seconds at the Carlisle Invitational. Time will tell if Paci's experience on the district course will even the score with Highduch. Ella Wolfe (Hempfield), Lydia Drago (Governor Mifflin), and Ana Bondy (Carlisle) are others to keep on your radar.

Teams: PA #5 Manheim Township will look to defend its team title. Keep an eye on Exeter Township, Chambersburg, and Governor Mifflin.
