A Shot at the Top Feb 22, 2006

\"Mom, I went to sign up for softball and changed my mind a little. I\'m doing the Shot Put.\" So began the track & field career of Center HS thrower, current PA leader and US#2 Allyn Laughlin.

Hannon gets her state title(s). Krais chases US Soph Record(s). Costello double dips @ PTFCA States. Feb 23, 2006

Erin Hannon has won a US title, but never the state variety. She chould get at least two. Ryann Krais has a shot at two US sophomore class records, let alone two or three state titles. Liz Costello is atttempting the Mile-3000 double, with a 4x800 anchor as dessert... and could pull it off. And watch the battle between West Catholic and West Chester Henderson in the relays. It will be electric, and could decide the day.

Ryann Krais leads the state in 3 events... but she is not running in one... Feb 24, 2006

Ryann Krais is ranked No. 1 in the state and among the elite nationally in the long jump, 400-meter dash and 60 hurdles. So that would make the Methacton High sophomore the favorite for each event heading into Saturday\'s PTFCA state championship meet. But there\'s no open 400 on her schedule this weekend.

Coming off three workouts and higher mileage than he used to win XC states in November, Manheim Township senior Craig Miller ran a #14 all-time 8:22.65 3000 meters, erasing the state record of Southmoreland Chris Dugan. North Penn boys (in PennTrackXC photo by Megan Zeller) and West Catholic girls used relay wins to state titles. Erin Hannon captured four medals, two first, a 2nd and a 6th. Latavia Thomas won an individual title, while teammate Kneshia Sheard took a 1st and 2nd to go along with the two relay titles she and Thomas helped to secure. Ryann Krais won two individual events. Sarah Morrison outkicked Liz Costello, but Costello came back to secure the 3000. Lindsay Regan won her 4th straight pole vault title. Breehana Jacobs set a state meet record. Simon Gratz excelled individually and in two of the three relays. North Penn and Wissahickon rocked in the 4x800. Harrisburg surprised everyone but themselves in the 4x400. Reggie Carter surprised no one delivering a 400 win. But Aaron Kauffman won the 800 before the \'hot\' heat was even run. Wow... what a meet!

Splits needed for relays and more... Feb 26, 2006

We do have splits for the girls\' 400, 800 Mile and 3000...but could use splits for the relays. And we have splits for the boys\' 400 and 3000, but could use splits for the 800, Mile and Relays. Please email to don@penntrackxc.com with the subject line \"Splits\". Thanks for your help.

Miller vs Walker | Morrison vs Costello | Kauffman vs Heat 3 | Hannon vs 2nd place Feb 28, 2006

Miller vs Walker | Morrison vs Costello | Kauffman vs Heat 3 | Hannon vs 2nd placeCraig Miller obliterated the PA 3k all-time best. Jake Walker ran a PA#2 all-time mark. Problem was, it was in the same race. In the Mile, Sarah Morrison showed Liz Costello that she too, has a kick. But Costello came back to gut out a 3000 win. In the 800, it is rare for someone from the next-last heat win the race, but that\'s exactly what happened for a confident Aaron Kauffman. And Erin Hannon finally erased her 2nd place jinx in state meets by winning two titles.
