PA Recap Day 3: Neshaminy's David Marrington top PA athlete in the 400h, 4th in 53:37. Cheltenham boys set event record of 4:16.99 in Philly-area 4x400 and smash school 4x100 record with 41.66.
 

Cheltenham boys competed with some of the top Jamaican teams and finished 3rd in the Small Schools 4x100m championship with a time of 41.66, smashing their school record.  

Cheltenham boys ran a nice 3:18.25 to qualify for the small schools 4x400 championship later in the day.  Wissahickon was 2nd in the race with a time of 3:19.17.  

Cheltenham then won the Philly Area 4x400m championship with a great event record clocking of 3:16.99.  The old record from 1996 was 3:17.32 by Chester High.

Cheltenham girls rolled to the victory in the Tri-State 4x100 with a time of 47.11.  

Central Bucks West took top honors in the girls Philly Area 4x400m championship with a time of 3:51.61.

Spring-Ford won the Suburban A 4x400 with a time of 3:19.40 to crack the 3:20 barrier.

Chris Stone (Springfield Montco) finished 2nd and first American in the high jump with a leap of 6-7.75.

Jordan Bryan (St. Joseph's) was 5th in the long jump with a 23-1.75 leap, just 5 inches off of the winning jump.

Craig Stevens (Pottsville Area) finished 4th in the triple jump with a distance of 48-0 and Bryce Williams (State College) finished 5th in 47-11.75.

Neshaminy's David Marrington was the top PA athlete in the 400 hurdles, finishing 4th in 53:37. Conestoga Valley's Chance Post took 7th in 54.34.
 
 
 
Friday

PA Recap Day 2: West Chester Henderson 10:03.77 DMR/DeLuca and Wilson fast in the 3k/Cheltenham 47.11 COA 4x100 
 
In the boys COA Distance Medley Relay West Chester Henderson found themselves battling with Cardinal O'Hara with the title on the line. Tony Russell went out with splits of :58 and 2:01 to take the sting out of Jim Belfatto's legs before pulling away over the final lap to corss the line in 10:03.77 for the win.  His split was 4:09.99.  O'Hara wound up 3rd in 10:11.17.
 
 
 
PA was well represented in the 3000m run as well with Dominic DeLuca (Dallas) finishing 4th with a swift 8:21.89 clocking.  Ross Wilson (Council Rock North) finished 6th in 8:23.56.  


 
Cheltenham girls qualified for the COA 4x100m relay, always a tough one to get into.  They finished 7th in the final with a time of 47.11.  In the 4x100 Large Schools race Upper Darby finished 7th with a time of 48.22.  
 
David Lucas (Warwick) finished 4th in the Discus with a heave of 180-06.  Jhet Janis (Cocalico) was 4th in the Javelin with a throw of 198-01. Anthony Bouselli (Wallenpaupack) was 6th in the Javelin with a throw of 195-09.  Samuel Reid (Central) finished 5th in the Shot Put with a heave of 58-05.25.


 
PA also competed well in the boys 4x800 qualifying races.  In the Large Schools first section Pennridge and State College finished 4-5 to qualify for the COA tomorrow with times of 7:50.43 and 7:50.44.  
 
Pennridge anchor Joey Logue split 1:52.27 to move the team into contention. Will Cather brought State College home with a 1:54.08 anchor.  In the small schools 4x800 Malvern Prep finished 2nd in 7:58.23 and Penncrest finished 3rd, right behind them in 7:59.00.  
 
 
 
 
 
Thursday
 
PA Recap Day 1: Cheltenham is 4x1 lightning/Rome and Stoner rock the 3k/Freedman and Clancy win field titles
 
The Cheltenham girls roared to a 47.17 and qualified as one of three American teams for Friday's COA 4x100.  
 
Kailyn Clancy, California PA, wins the girls COA shot put from the first flight with a throw of 45-3.  Courtney McCartney (Selinsgrove) was 3rd in 44-04.
 
 
The girls COA 3000m race was one for the books and PA was a huge part of the success.  Hannah DeBalsi (CT) led the way with an impressive 9:34.57 clocking.  Hannah Christen (VA) was next in 9:37.57 in a sprint with Regan Rome of Dallas, PA, and Paige Stoner of Pottsville Area, PA.  Regan improved on her time from last year by 11 seconds but the biggest story was Paige Stoner, who improved her time by a whopping 32 seconds over her previous 3k PR!

 
The girls COA Mile run was also exciting with two top PA performances as well.  Kennedy Weisner (Elk County Catholic) was 3rd overall with a fine 4:50.96 clocking.  Marissa Sheva (Pennridge) closed hard and finished 5th in 4:51.22.  Amelia Paladino (WV) won the race in 4:45.34.  
 
5 PA teams qualified for the Championship of America 4x800m relay with Great Valley leading the way with a 2nd place 9:11.26.  Central Bucks South qualified with a 9:12.57, Strath Haven with a 9:16.99, Central Bucks West with a 9:18.20 and Pennsbury with a 9:21.47.  
 
Shelby Freedman (Danville Area) took the victory in the Javelin with a solid 143-04 toss.  Kennedy Shank (Northern) cleared 12-03.75 to finish 2nd in the pole vault with the same leap as the winner, Olivia Gruver (MD).  Bridget Guy (Hempfield Area) was 3rd in 11-11.75 and Moriah Fitzgerald (Avon Grove) was 5th in 11-11.75.  
 
 
Cyre Virgo (Fleetwood Area) finished 2nd and first American in the high jump with a solid leap of 5-09.  Abby Jones (Franklin Area) jumped well for 3rd with a 5-09 clearance.  Megan McCloskey (Germantown Academy) finished 5th in 5-07.25.  Taylor Hojnacki (Central Bucks South) finished a solid 3rd and first American in the Discus with a heave of 146-07.
 
 
In the girls DMR Garnet Valley race a solid race to finish 6th in 12:05.33.  Cardinal O'Hara finished 9th in 12:14.16.  West Springfield (VA) won the event with a time of 11:53.07.  
 
Uchechi Onuoha (Pennsbury) finished 4th in the triple jump with a leap of 38-10.5.  Keturah Orji of Mount Olive, NJ won overall with a leap of 43-10.5.

 
Rachael DeCecco (Cumberland Valley) finished 8th in the 400m Intermediate Hurdles with a time of 1:02.53.
