AAA Girls' 4x400m Relay Preview
Who has what left at the end of the day? That's always the question in the 4x400 meter relay. After the last week, the answer for many teams was quite a bit, with a number of season bests performances coming at the end of a long day.
The top seed and PA-AAA No. 1 is Warwick, which went 3:52.39 to win the District 3 title on a nice anchor leg by Leah Graybill. Warwick, the top seed in the 4x1 too, will look to pull off the sprint relay double at Shippensburg just as they did at D3. The Warriors were third in the 4x4 last year.
But District 1's best may have something to say about that. Coatesville won a thriller for the district title in 3:52.76. Central Bucks West was a close second in 3:53.00. Coatesville ran away with the state crown last year, while CB West was fourth. Penn Wood, second last year, will surely be in the mix again too. Strath Haven, Upper Darby, and North Penn should also give it a good run for the title.
As for the WPIAL, Mount Lebanon edged out Pine-Richland for that District 7 win. Look for these squads to mix it up near the front, as well.
As always, it will be close and exciting up front. Expect some fast splits here.
