Freshmen girls have been making headlines through the month of December; so we wanted to take a look at the Top 25 freshmen in each event.
In the 60mH, Damira Allen (Chester) currently holds the PA No. 1. Her mark of 9.31 stands nearly two tenths quicker than the next best mark. To add, that time would've placed fifth at the PTFCA Championship in 2022.
But Allen isn't the only freshman leading in her respective event. Gwen Hamilton of Archbishop Wood ran a 2:18.84 800m to win the DVGTCA Meet 2. As a result, she was lifted to the top spot in the event. On the cross course she won the District 12 (2A) Championship and went on to finish 22nd at the PIAA State Championship. She'll be a threat and is certainly an underclassmen to keep an eye on.
