Marty Uher Invitational (Roadman Park - California, PA)

The Mount Lebanon boys made a strong debut in the Steel Race (AAA). The PA#5 squad captured the team win with 47 points, nine points ahead of strong AA team Greensburg Salem. Patrick Anderson (PA#9) led the way for Lebo, taking the individual win in a time of 16:40.

University (WV) freshman Larry Josh Edwards was second in 16:53 and Upper Saint Clair's Robert O'Brien was third in 17:03.

In the boys' Fire Race (A & AA), Winchester Thurston's Scott Routledge earned the top spot. The junior ran 17:27 to take the win. After taking sixth in the WPIAL-A last year, Routledge proved he's one to watch this fall in 1A. Trinity Christian's Zachary Gould was second in 17:38. Uniontown Area claimed the team title with 38 points, while Thurston was second with 58 points.


Out-of-staters ruled the day in the girls' Steel Race (AAA). Annie Allen of Saint Joseph Academy (OH) took the individual win, running 19:52 for the victory. University High (WV) took the next three spots, paced by runner-up Zoe Shetty. Mount Lebanon's Aoife-Ruby Dunne was the top PA finisher (fifth) and Upper Saint Clair's Claire Hoffman was sixth.

University won the team race with 41 points and Upper Saint Clair took second with 87 points.

In the girls' Fire Race (A & AA), it was all Gionna Quarzo of Brownsville Area. Quarzo, who entered at PA#10 covered the hilly terrain in 20:09. It's a great start for the junior who closed out her sophomore season winning the AA 3,200 meter state title on the track. Greensburg Central Catholic freshman Corinn Brewer had a strong high school debut, taking second in 20:55.
