Council Rock Invitational - Meet Recap
The Central Bucks West girls opened up its 2019 XC season at Tyler Park on Saturday. West came away with the team title with 55 points. Piper Wilson led the way for the team champs, running 19:17 for the win. West's 2 through 5 runners were separated by just 25 seconds, making for a nice pack.
Council Rock North's Lorena Ye was second in 19:23 and Cheltenham's Janelle Williams was third in 19:48. Council Rock North took second as a team with 87 points.
Council Rock South took home the team victory in the boys' race on a sixth-runner tiebreaker over Hatboro-Horsham. Both teams scored 96 points with South taking the advantage behind sixth runner Logan Brunnozzi's 31st place finish. The champs had a 1 through 5 spread of just 44 seconds led by Christopher Sears' fourth place overall finish.
Pennridge's Diego Lera-Lozano took home the individual win in 16:29 narrowly beating out second place Devon Comber of Hatboro by .60. Council Rock North's Pat Bierach placed third in 16:41.
