District 10 AA
Villa Maria Academy girls had a big day in their tune up for next week's state championships.
They started their meet doing what they do best and that win the 4x800 meter relay in 9:27.81, which set a meet record. They also set a meet record in the 4x400 meter relay (4:01.37) and Claire Brown completed the Villa Maria hat trick of meet records with an 800 meter win in 2:14.30. Teammate Alison Carson won the 1600 (5:06.15) and 3200 meter runs (11:16.70). Alexis Cadden added a long jump gold medal for Villa Maria, jumping 17-9.
Elena Marchand of Hickory won the shot put (45-10.25) and finished 2nd in the discus to teammate Tori McKinley (137-3). Teammate Danielle Collier won the javelin with a PA#2 mark of 156-5 to set a meet record.
For the boys, Sebastian Curtin of Mercyhurst Prep won the 1600 (4:26.24) and 800 meter runs (1:58.47) and was a member of the winning 4x800 meter relay team (8:02.70). Evan Blaire of Hickory won the shot put (57-10.50) and the discus (163-7)

Abby Jones of Franklin Area cleared 5-7 to win the high jump and jumped 16-8.50 to win the long jump. Bethany Evankovich of General McLane ran 57.12 to win the 400 meter dash. Sydney Sokol of McDowell won the high hurdles (15.21) and the intermediate hurdles (46.20).
For the boys, Aaron Benka of Grove City ran 9:42.03 to win the 3200 meter run. Caleb Sanford of McDowell cleared 15-3 to win the pole vault. Grayson Hill of Cathedral Prep threw 178 feet to win the javelin.

For the boys, Brendon Stamm of Moniteau won the shot put (50-9.50) and the discus (151-11). Liam Raehsler of Clarion won the 1600 (4:27.50) and 3200 meter runs (9:52.77).

Friends League
Germantown Friends swept both team titles on their home track at the league championship meet!
Sarah Walker led the charge for the girls by winning the 1600 (4:59.37) and 800 meter runs (2:14.50). Teammate Imani Ross won the high jump (5-2), the 100 meter hurdles (15.67) and the intermediate hurdles (48.13).
The boys title charge was led by a pair of 1-2 finishes in the 400 and 3200 meter races, and a pair of 1-2-3 finishes in the 800 and 1600 meter runs. Grayson Hepp (400), Gordon Goldstein (800), Peter Jarka-Sellers (1600) and Nick Dahl (3200) all earned gold medals.

Saturday was absolutely electric as the heat and humidity in the air was matched by the scorching performances on the track!
The morning session was highlighted by a brand new US#1 time from Great Valley in the girls 4x800 meter relay! The team of Elise Claffey, Tabitha Wismer, Anna Willig, and Crosby Spiess came within under a second of the meet record with a time of 8:58.98! It is the 2nd best time at the district meet and the 2nd best time in Great Valley's school history to their 8:56 at states a year ago.
In the afternoon session, John Lewis of Cheltenham stole the show as he ran a meet record in the 800 meter run in a US#2 1:49.15! It is a lifetime best for Lewis!
Behind those two performances, the meet was full of great marks and the depth and quality of the fields were off the charts!
Cheltenham girls ran a state leading 46.88 to set a meet record in the 4x1, while Ciara Leonard won the 100 meter hurdles in a state leading 13.67! McKenna Keegan of Avon Grove edged out a 400 meter win in a state leading 54.84 to beat Uche Nwogwugwu of North Penn (PA#2 54.85). Dasia Pressley of Pennsbury ran a state leading 24.00 to win the 200 meter dash over PA#2 and 100 meter winner Chanel Brissett (24.03).
Olivia Sargent of Pennsbury won the 3200 meter run in 10:36.35 and came within an eyelash of the 1600 meter crown, only for Karli Visconto of Nazareth Academy to snag the win in the final meters in 5:02.72. Allison Williams (38-5) and Nwogwugwu (38-4) finished 1-2 in the triple jump for North Penn!
In girls AAA, 9 of the 11 events on the track had the top 8 all hit the state qualifying standards!
For the boys, Pennsbury ran 7:43.50 to improve on their state lead in the 4x800 meter relay! Dave Marrington of Neshaminy improved on his state lead in the 300 meter hurdles with a blazing 37.36! Saahir Bethea of Cheltenham jumped a state leading 24-3 to win the long jump and become the first 24 foot plus jumper in the state this season! Dan Chisena of Downingtown East ran a pair of 21.66 200s to win the event over state leader Christian Brissett of Cheltenham.
Brissett did hold off Chisena in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.91. Jaxson Hoey of Downingtown West ran 4:15.40 to win the 1600. Donovan St Louis of Upper Darby ran 48.38 to win the 400 meter dash. Cheltenham ran 3:16.11 to win the 4x400 meter relay. Milton Jones of Glen Mills threw a personal best 57-3.50 to win the shot put. Evan Sing of Penncrest threw 194-8 to win the javelin.
With everything on the track being a prelim on Thursday, all the finals were in the field events.
Shannon Taub of Council Rock South cleared a season best 5-8 to win the high jump! Her teammate duo of Dominique Franco and Savannah Wood both cleared 11-6 to go 1-2 in the pole vault. Madison Langley-Walker of Cheltenham continued her incredible debut season with a district title in the long jump with a mark of 18-5.25. Nina Gambacorta of Garnet Valley threw 42-5.50 to win the shot put. Nicolette Serratore of Methacton threw a big personal best of 139 feet even to win the javelin.
On the track, 9 individuals and 15 relay teams hit the respective state qualifying standards, but will not compete in the district finals on Saturday, showing the incredible depth that exists in the district.
As for the marks that did advance, Taylor Chapman of Pennridge ran 11.94 for PA#3 honor in the 100 meter dash, Chanel Brissett of Cheltenham ran a PA#2 24.28 in the 200, teammate Alexis Crosby ran 55.66 in the 400, while Ciara Leonard ran 14.20 in the 100 meter hurdles and 43.78 in the 300 meter hurdles. 10 girls ran 2:16 in the 800 meter run. Central Bucks South ran 3:51.42 in the 4x400 meter relay.
For the boys, high jump state leader Andrew Diehl of Conestoga cleared 6-7 to win the high jump. Jay Stocker of hosts Coatesville jumped a big 47-7.75 to win the triple jump!
On the track, Dave Marrington of Neshaminy took his state lead back in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 37.64. Previous state leader John Lewis of Cheltenham split 1:49 on the 4x800 meter relay to lead his team to a time of 7:52.79. Their heat had four teams under 7:55 to make the finals. Christian Brissett of Cheltenham bolted a 21.59 200 meter dash prelim time, Donovan St Louis of Upper Darby ran 48.80 to lead the 400 meter dash qualifiers, Jaxson Hoey of Downingtown West ran 4:18.25 in the 1600. Upper Darby ran 3:17.34 in the 4x4 and Downingtown West ran 41.89 in the 4x1! Just one relay team and one individual hit state qualifying marks and missed the district final.

On Saturday, Zach Brehm of Carlisle added two more victories to his weekend, winning the 1600 (4:18.30) and 800 meter runs (1:55.29).
Peter Hughey of James Buchanan ran a PA#2 48.12 to win the 400 meter dash. Charles Bowman Jr of Central Dauphin East ran 14.48 to win the high hurdles, and he was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that was victorious in 3:17.27 and the 4x1 team that ran 42.10 for another gold medal. Cedar Crest ran 7:54.01 to win the 4x800 meter relay! Alex McCord of Warwick cleared 6-4 to win the high jump.
For the girls, the Harrisburg show continued, as Sierra Brabham-Lawrence won the high hurdles (14.25), the intermediate hurdles (42.68), the triple jump (38-7) and ran on the meet record 4x400 meter relay team (3:53.03). Teammate Ty'Asia Dansbury was also on the 4x400 meter relay and also earned gold medals in the 100 (12.32), the 200 (25.10), and set a meet record in the 400 (PA#3 55.10)!
Away from Harrisburg, Mady Clahane won the 1600 meters in 4:58.54 to win her 2nd gold of the weekend. Susquehanna Township ran 47.61 to win the 4x100 meter relay. Wilson ran a meet record 9:12.05 to win the 4x800 meter relay. Tesia Kempski of Bishop McDevitt and Erin Winters of Lebanon cleared a meet record 12-4 in the pole vault, with Kempski winning on misses. Meredith Newman of Manheim Township ran 2:13.84 to win the 800 meter run.
Mady Clahane of Cumberland Valley cruised to another district title in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:41.52. Cyre Virgo of Fleetwood won the long jump with a mark of 18-3.50. But her struggles in the high jump continue, as the two time defending champion only managed to jump 5-3 to just get into the meet. Lily Harnish of Waynesboro cleared 5-6 for the victory. Emily Stauffer of Cocalico threw 43-7 to win the shot put, while Jocelen Ruth of Kutztown threw 135-6 to win the javelin.
For the boys, Zach Brehm of Carlisle took down the 3200 meter record of former Manheim Township great Craig Miller, running 9:09.05 to beat it by just under 2 seconds! His teammate and the defending state champion in the triple jump, Deshawn Millington of Carlisle, was victorious at districts with a winning mark of 48-1.25. Keith Stede of Northern York cleared 15 feet to win the pole vault. Charles Bowman Jr of Central Dauphin East ran 14.29 in the semifinals of the 110 meter hurdles.
District 3 AA
On Saturday, Shannon Quinn of Trinity (3) came away with 3 gold medals. She was the winner of the 800 meter run in 2:15.92 and she a member of both the 4x800 meter relay (9:39.94) and the 4x400 meter relay (4:03.16). Abby Martin of Boiling Springs won her 2nd gold medal of the weekend, jumping 37-0.50 to win the triple jump.
Nicole Leonzo of Harrisburg Christian ran 58.51 to win the 400 meter dash and 25.76 to win the 200 meter dash.
For the boys, Andrew Snyder of Camp Hill ran a PA#2 48.04 to win the 400 meter dash, 22.44 to win the 200 meter dash, and won gold on both the 4x100 (43.09) and 4x400 meter relays (3:24.55). Teammate Zack Kuntz also ran on both winning relays and swept the high hurdles (15.49) and the intermediate hurdles (41.20). Brendan Sparr of Schuylkill Valley jumped 22-1 to win the long jump. Teammate Joey Mundell added to his shot put gold with a discus gold with a mark of 161-8.
Defending girls long jump state champion Abby Martin of Boiling Springs jumped 18-6.75 to win the girls long jump. Megan Silva of Trinity (3) cleared 11 feet to win the pole vault. For the boys, Joey Mundell of Schuylkill Valley threw 57-4 to win the shot put.

Chris Stone of Springfield Montco had a monster day in his final preparations for next week's state meet. The senior took home four gold medals, with the highlight of his day happening in the pole vault, where he set a new district record of 15-9! He also had wins in the high jump (6-6), the long jump (22-7.25), and the javelin (177-9).
Nkosi Pile of Church Farm School ran 11.03 to win the 100 meter dash, while freshman Austin Kratz of Christopher Dock ran 22.25 to win the 200 meter dash. Aaron Morris of Springfield Montco ran a personal best 1:56.58 to win the 800 meter run. Morgan Ellis of Delco Christian ran 15.06 to win the 110 meter hurdles.
For the girls, Sheila Plunkett of St Basil's Academy won the discus (130-2) and the shot put (36-11.50). Tabitha Miller of Christopher Dock won the triple jump (36-10.75) and the high jump (5-2). Christopher Dock ran 9:33.14 to win the 4x800 meter relay. Madison Landis of Christopher Dock won the 1600 in 5:10.21. Sydni Stovall of Springfield Montco ran 57.59 to win the 400 meter dash.

Olivia Arizin of Cardinal O'Hara ran a solo 2:13.63 to win the 800 meter run and split 56.27 on the 3rd leg of the winning 4x400 meter relay in 3:57.98. Sierra Nesmith of Girls High won the high hurdles (14.79) and the intermediate hurdles (meet record 44.10). She also added triple jump gold with a mark of 36-11.50. Liz Reid of Lansdale Catholic won the long jump (18-3.50) and the 200 meter dash (25.42).
For the boys, sophomore Stephen McClelland of St Joe's Prep ran 1:54.54 to win the 800 meter run. Kevin James of Cardinal O'Hara ran 9:25.24 to win the 3200 meter run and split 1:54.23 to lead his O'Hara teammates to a 4x8 win in 7:55.48. Colyn Todd of Roman Catholic won the high hurdles (15.12) and the intermediate hurdles (38.53). Grant Jones of Lasalle threw 183-7 to win the javelin, while teammate Eddie Eason cleared 14 feet to win the pole vault. Seneca Williams of Archbishop Ryan jumped 22-5.50 to win the long jump.

For the boys, Noah Woods of State College ran 49.43 to win the 400 meter dash, while teammate Alex Milligan ran 4:22.82 to win the 1600 meter run and 1:57.55 to win the 800 meter run. Lucas Gray and Griffin Thompson joined the party by clearing 14-3 in the pole vault.

The meet may not have had an injured Brooklynn Broadwater or Gabrielle Wilkinson, but Sarah Walker put on a big show with another 800 meter win in 2:08.03. She now owns the three fastest 800 meter times in the state this season.
Abbie Goldstein of Germantown Academy won the 1600 (5:05.85) and 3200 meter runs (11:18.22) for the 2nd time in four days. Tatiana Purnell of Mercersburg set meet records in the 100 meter hurdles (15.19) and the 300 meter hurdles (44.34). Notre Dame ran 3:59.44 to win the 4x400 meter relay. Imani Ross of Germantown Friends cleared 5-4 to win the high jump.
For the boys, Sam Ritz of Germantown Academy ran his 7th and 8th races in under a week, taking home the 1600 meter run in 4:17.53 and the 3200 meter run in 9:55.36. Alex Mollick of Springside Chestnut Hill won the 100 (meet record 10.87 prelims) and 200 meter dashes (meet record 21.89). We have a new state leader in the girls 100 meter dash and that now belongs to sophomore Jaylyn Aminu of Liberty. Aminu dipped under 11 seconds for the first time this season, running 11.77 to break a 27 year district meet record! She also won the 200 meter dash in 25.00. Khyasi Caldwell-Adams of Pocono Mountain East jumped 19-2 to set a district record in the long jump. She now has the top two and three of the top four marks in the state this season! Caldwell-Adams also ran 59.29 to win the 400 meter dash. Mahendra McWhite of Dieruff won the high hurdles in a district record 14.40 and the intermediate hurdles in 44.17. Brooke Cope of Jim Thorpe threw 135-5 to win the javelin.
For the boys, freshman Julian Liaci of Nazareth Area ran 10.79 to win the 100 meter dash. Khai Samuels of Pleasant Valley ran 1:56.13 to win the 800 meter run. Colin Abert of Easton ran 9:19.41 to win the 3200 meter run. Saquon Barkley of Whitehall jumped 22-2.50 to win the long jump. Rayan Green of Jim Thorpe jumped a PA#2 47-9 to win the triple jump. Katie Kravitsky of Dallas cleared a meet record 5-5 to win the high jump. Teammate Ally Rome ran 11:00.51 to hold off Erin Feeney of Scranton Prep in the 3200 meter run by half a second. Emily Malone of Hazleton won the 100 (12.43) and 200 meter dashes (25.09).
