DVGTCA Meet #4 - Meet Recap

Friends' Central started off the meet in a big way, taking the win in the DMR in PA#2 and US#7 time of 12:20.83. Central Bucks West took second in a PA#3/US#11 time of 12:28.44.

Tia Taylor of Saint Basil Academy moved to the top of the state rankings in the long jump. The sophomore had a big leap of 18-10.75 to take the win and the PA#1 and US#9 spot.

Brianna Smith of Cheltenham had a big Friday night once again. The junior went 8.96, a PA#3, to win the 60-meter hurdles. Smith also matched her season best and PA#2 in the high jump, winning with a 5-7. Council Rock South's Elke Knecht was second in the hurdles in 9:04, a PA#4

Thelma Davies of Girard College moved up in distance and raced the first 300 meter dash of her career. The senior sprint phenom grabbed the win in a PA#6 time of 41.11.

In an exciting 1K race, Academy of Notre Dame's Jessica Schneider went 2:59.39 to take the win over Saul's Miracle Price, who took second in 3:03.91. Schneider's time is a PA#1, while Price ran a PA#3.

Arguably the day's most thrilling race came in the 4x400-meter relay. North Penn took a close win over Central Bucks West. Natalie Kwortnik ran a terrific anchor leg to lead NP to the victory in 4:09.03 to CB West's 4:04.63.

In the 600 meters, freshman Alina LaForest of Saint Basil went 1:39.47, a new PA#4 time.
