Fast Times Coming At Lehigh: Paul Short Preview

Boys' White Race Preview - Paul Short Run

The race for the win in the boys' White Race should be very competitive and should get pretty fast up front. Christian McComb of Boyertown is among the ones to beat. The senior, though, has had a rough couple weeks registering DNFs at a few invites. If he's healthy, expect McComb, who went 15:33 at Northampton in Week 1, to be up near the front competing for the win.

It will be the invite debut of Wyomissing's Ben Kuhn. The senior was sixth at Paul Short last year after setting an aggressive early pace. He's the defending District 3 Class AA champ and was ninth at states. Look for him to be a serious factor here.

Jenkintown's Luke Miller, Saucon Valley's Matthew Chaikowsky, Harriton's Sam Kartsonis are among the other boys in this field that should be up near the front pack, battling it out for the win. The same goes for North Pocono's Caleb Kenyon, Westtown's Constantin Carls, Monroe-Woodbury's Tyler Anderson, and the Northeastern duo of James Herman and Cole Perry.

The team race will be close, just like the individual battle. Jenkintown won the White Race last year, and the defending Class A state champs should be in the mix for the team title at Paul Short once again. Westtown School, the top-ranked independent school in Pennsylvania will be a factor. This team earned wins at the George School and Westtown in consecutive weeks.

Northeastern, Boyertown, Monroe-Woodbury, and Bishop Shanahan should also be in the mix for top five team finishes here.
