High School Boys' 4x800m Relay - Prelims: Friday, A.M. (Finals: Saturday, 4:50 P.M.)
PA Entries: Altoona Area; Central Bucks East; Coatesville; Downingtown East; Episcopal Academy; Germantown Friends; Great Valley; Greencastle-Antrim; Haverford Township; Lower Merion; North Penn; Penncrest; State College Area; Twin Valley; William Tennent
15 boys squads are entered in the 4x8 prelims that will get the action kicked off on Friday morning. A number of squads will have a shot at qualifying for the Championship of America, set for Saturday evening.
The indoor state champions from State College Are sit atop the state rankings with a 7:55.68. The Little Lions always bring a talented quartet to the fold in the 4x8 and should be looking at a big time drop on Friday morning. Haverford is the other PA squad with a sub-8 time in this field; the Fords went 7:57.92 back in early April, and should also have a good shot to advance through to Saturday.
With a number of talented relays in this field, the PA state rankings should see a big shake-up when the dust settles.
High School Boys' Distance Medley Relay - Friday, 4:25 P.M.
PA Entries: Central Bucks West; LaSalle College
A pair of PA teams will race the DMR on Friday evening.
These two teams just went 1-2 in the 4x8 at the CB West Relays this past weekend with West running a PA#2 time of 7:57.29. LaSalle, meanwhile, went 8:02 (PA#6) for second. These are perennially deep distance squads that should compete well against this loaded field that includes a stacked Union Catholic (NJ) squad that will be the team to beat.
